Sober Dance Pigeon Lake February 14 7:30pm

There will be a sober dance at the pigeon lake recreation centre. There will be door prizes, snacks and entertainment provided by Yellowbird entertainment. It starts at 7:30 and goes to 11pm.

Everyone welcome. Bring a friend.

Local Hobbema author Cindy Larocque. This is where you can see her childrens books. She did some reading from her book at the elders centre on Jan. 27, 2012. As well, Terri Johnson-Montour was reading from her book of poetry the same day and you can see Terri’s work at www.innerchildpress.yolasite.com Terri sells her book for $15 and she can be found on Facebook if you want to buy her book. Cindy Larocque is a Louis Bull band member and Terri is a Samson band member.

Nechi Training Job: Director of Training

Director of Training (full time):

Nechi Training, Research and Health Promotions Institute is currently accepting applications for a full-time Director of Training position

The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communications skills, exceptional organizational skills combined with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.  This position is directional in nature with functional and reporting responsibility to the Chief Executive Officer. Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge in management processes, administrative skills, human resources, sales, marketing, and sound financial background.
  • Monitor and administer day-to-day operations in the training division, including supervision, orientation, scheduling, training, and case conferences.
  • Monitor offsite contract training to ensure organizational quota is met in a timely fashion, while addressing community and student issues, as they arise.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively with external agencies and general public to discuss training needs, standards, and future development as requested.
  • Ability to generate professional reports quarterly, contribute to annual reports, and create organizational course calendar, update curriculum and resources as needed.
  • Attend weekly training sessions to accurately evaluate trainers, instructors, and consultants, as well ensure student progress is monitored through case conferencing. Arrange and host weekly case conferences, participate in management, staff, and other meetings as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or Administration preferred.
  • Certification and experience in adult education is a definite asset.  Consideration will be given to a combination of education, experience, and equivalencies.
  • Excellent organizational and supervisory skills with a history of successful employment in positions of increasing responsibility, business and public relations skills and conduct are essential.
  • Previous fund raising experience for non-profit organizations is a definite asset.
  • Effective use and knowledge in Microsoft programs, Internet, Outlook, and SMART Notebook, and other office equipment.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a willingness to travel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, language, organization and communities is a definite asset.

Adult Literacy Sober Dance February 17, 2021, Jim R. Sports Building 8pm

The Adult literacy will be having a Sober Dance on February 17, 2012, at the jim rattlesnake sports building. Tickets are $10 and can be picked up at the Adult Literacy office, the tickets might be more if you wait so get them now at $10. The newsletter will be providing coverage for this and I will be doing an article on it later on.

Local entertainer Tyler Ward-comedian. Tyler entertained the Ermineskin christmas party in 2011 and he did a really good job. MC for this event will be JMak-Jason Makinaw. Doors open at 8pm and goes to 12 Midnight. Age range: 13 years of age and up.
